What is Flashka and how does it help me study?

Flashka turns whatever you're studying from, lecture slides, a PDF, your notes, a recorded lecture, into material you can actually learn from: flashcards, quizzes and mock exams, oral exams and case studies, mind maps, notes and an exam plan. Professor Ka, your AI tutor, explains anything you get stuck on. And it makes sure what you learn stays learned: every time you review a card you rate how well you knew it, and Flashka brings it back right before you would forget it, hard cards sooner, easy ones later, so your study time goes where it's needed. That review loop is unlimited on every plan, including Free.

Why is this better than ChatGPT, Gemini or any other LLM?

A general LLM answers questions. Flashka runs your whole study cycle, and costs about half the price. It is purpose-built for studying: flashcards with spaced repetition, quizzes and mock exams, oral exams, case studies, mind maps, notes, transcription and an exam planner, all built from your own material and all in one place. Ask ChatGPT for a summary and you get text you still have to learn. Upload the same chapter to Flashka and you get something to study, a schedule to study it in, and a tutor that knows exactly what you're preparing for.

How do active recall and spaced repetition work in Flashka?

Active recall means testing yourself instead of rereading. Every card shows you the question first: you answer from memory, flip it, and rate how well you knew it, Impossible, Hard, OK or Easy. Pulling an answer out of your memory is what makes it stick, and it shows you straight away what you don't know yet.

Spaced repetition decides when each card comes back. A new card returns after a few minutes, then the next day, then a few days later, then weeks later: each gap grows with how easily you remembered it. A card you forget goes back to short steps, so you catch it again before it slips away. It is the proven method Anki is built on.

Memo AI runs that schedule for you. Open a deck and it gives you exactly the cards that are due today, nothing to plan by hand. Cards you keep forgetting are flagged as critical, so you can rewrite them in a way that sticks, and once you set an exam date, the exam planner tells you how much to study each day to be ready in time.

Is everything built from my own materials?

Yes, that's the point. Upload your notes, textbooks, slides or a recorded lecture, and every card, quiz and exam is built from exactly what you'll be tested on, not from random internet content. Flashka takes PDFs, PowerPoint and Keynote slides, Word and Pages documents, plain text, photos of your notes or a textbook page, and lecture audio: record it live or upload a file and it is transcribed for you. You can also type or paste text, import an existing Anki deck, or, if you have no material yet, describe the topic and start from there.

Can I import my decks from Anki?

Yes. Export a deck from Anki as an .apkg file and import it into Flashka on the web: every card comes across, and a deck with subdecks keeps its structure as a folder of decks, so you pick up right where you were. Importing your review history is coming soon, so your progress will move over with you too. And if you ever want to go the other way, Beast and Wizard include export to Anki.

Can I use it for any subject and any language?

Yes to both. Flashka is used for medicine, law, engineering, the sciences, economics, languages, history and more, anything you can bring notes, slides or a textbook for. Case studies and oral exams suit clinical, legal and humanities courses, and image occlusion is built for anatomy, diagrams and maps. It also works in every language: upload material in the language you study in, and your cards, quizzes and Professor Ka's answers come back in that same language. The app itself is available in eight languages.

Is it free, and what are the plans and limits?

Yes, you can use Flashka for free with no problems, for as long as you like. The Free plan gives you every day: 1 card generation, 1 full quiz or mock exam, 1 oral exam, 1 case study, 1 transcript, 10 chat messages with Professor Ka and 30 pages of upload. Editing AI-generated content, generating cards with Highlight and Autocomplete, and AI Notes are unlimited on every plan, Free included.

If you want more, Beast gives you every month 30 card generations, 30 full quizzes, 30 oral exams, 30 case studies, 30 transcriptions and 300 chat messages, plus unlimited pages of upload and export to Anki.

If you never want to think about limits, Wizard gives you everything in Beast, unlimited.

Free limits reset daily and Beast limits reset monthly on your billing date. You can see what's left any time in the app. Plans renew automatically, so if you want to cancel, do it at least one day before your renewal date.

Why is Flashka so affordable?

Because we want premium education to be within reach of every student, whatever their budget. That is why we keep our prices as competitive as we can: Flashka is the most affordable AI study app on the market. It starts with a Free plan that is genuinely generous: every day, you can generate a full set of flashcards, quizzes, oral exams and a case study from a PDF, plus a transcript and 10 messages with Professor Ka. Reviews, editing and Notes are always unlimited. And when you need more, Beast and Wizard are priced for a student's budget.

Can I see my progress and my friends'?

Yes, and studying is more fun and more effective when you don't do it alone. Your profile tracks your streak, study time and mastery points, and the leaderboard shows where you stand globally, at your university and among your friends. Create a study group to pool decks with classmates, study the same material and compete on the group's own leaderboard: your personal progress stays private, only the ranking is shared. Or find study mates on your course and keep each other going until exam day.

Is my data private and secure?

Your documents and study material belong to you. They are stored securely and used only to build your own material, never shared with other students, never sold. You can export your cards (Anki export is included in Beast and Wizard) and delete your account and all its data at any time. The full policy is on the Privacy page.
